Philippa
Philippa is and has always been a lover of underground music… The daughter of a music teacher, with a degree in the study of Religion and a post graduate Diploma in Audio Engineering, Philippa is a long standing advocate of real house music – these days that roughly translates as music soaked in soul, flavour, synths and four to the floor disco magic.
Our first lady of the disco spins everything from nu disco and experimental house grooves through to jackin tech squarely aimed at the dancefloor.
As a professional DJ Philippa is a fiery performer, effortlessly controlling nightclub dance floors up and down New Zealand where her skills and taste have been in hot demand for over ten years now.
Philippa has collected national awards and accolades for her DJing, has held down consistently highly rating shows on the nationally broadcasting dance music radio station George FM, and is the leading lady behind stellar Auckland house music throw down CHICAGO DISCO.
Aside from a heavy weekend DJing schedule, Philippa currently tutors at MAINZ (The Music and Audio Institute of New Zealand) alongside DJ and buddy Recloose on the DJ and Electronic Music Production programme, likes long walks on the beach, pina coladas & getting caught in the rain (just kidding about that last part – ed).
